What I Build
Desktops and workstations
Gaming rigs, editing machines, CAD workstations, office builds. I spec them around what you actually run, so the money goes where it changes something.
Servers and NAS
Storage that isn't somebody else's cloud. RAID planned properly, the OS installed, shares and users set up, remote access working before I leave.
Upgrades and rescues
A machine that's slow rather than dead, a failed part, a build somebody else started. Often a couple of components rather than a whole new tower.
Parts lists
If you'd rather build it yourself, I'll spec it and you take the list. That's what the spec fee covers, and it's free when I build the machine.
Pricing
Labour only. Parts are quoted at actual retail cost and I show you the receipts, the same as installation equipment — nothing here earns me a commission.
Standard desktop
$100
Assembled, BIOS updated, OS and drivers installed, stress tested before it comes to you.
Complex build
$250
Custom cooling loops, sleeved cabling, case modification, heavy tuning. The slow, finicky ones.
Server or NAS
$200
RAID configured, OS installed, shares and users set up, remote access tested.
The parts list is free when I build it
Working out what to buy is the part that saves you money, and it's most of the value. If I build the machine, that's included — no separate charge, no obligation to go ahead after we've talked.
If you'd rather build it yourself, the spec is $75 and the list is yours to take wherever you like.
How it goes
Tell me what it's for
The games, the software, the file sizes, the budget. What it's for decides everything else, and it's the only question I really need answered.
I spec it
A parts list with what each choice is doing and where I'd spend more or less. Argue with it — it's your money and you'll know things about how you work that I don't.
Parts at cost
You can order them yourself or I'll source them. Either way you pay what they cost and see the receipts.
Built and tested
Assembled, updated, stress tested, and not handed over until it holds up under load. If it fails within 30 days I make it right.
